Your Questions Answered

That's the whole reason Flowmax exists. Most curling headbands have a metal wire running through them so they hold their shape at the gym — which also means they hold their shape against the side of your head all night. Flowmax has no wire. The core compresses flat under the weight of your head and springs back around your hair, so there's no hard point pressing in when you roll onto your side.
Flowmax is 62 inches — long enough to take waist-length or thick hair all the way to the ends with band left over to tie off. Running out of length is the number one reason people give up on heatless curling bands, so we oversized it on purpose. If your hair is shorter than shoulder length, wrap higher up the band and secure closer to the middle.
Damp, not wet — around 80 to 90 percent dry is the sweet spot. Soaking wet hair won't finish drying overnight and you'll unwrap to limp, frizzy sections. Fully dry hair holds much less shape. Towel dry, wait twenty minutes or rough-dry on low, then wrap.
Fine hair curls beautifully but can slip while you wrap. Work with slightly damper hair, wrap with a bit more tension, and use a light mousse or texture spray before you start so there's something for the curl to hold onto. A little hairspray after you unwrap will hold the shape through the day.
Almost always one of three things: hair was too wet, hair was too dry, or the wrap was too loose. Wrap firmly enough that the section stays flat against the band with no slack, and tuck the ends in properly — loose ends are what leave you with straight, poky tips. Most people have it dialled in by the third night. Give it a few tries before you decide it isn't for you.
Most people get a full day, and two if you sleep in a loose braid or a silk bonnet. A light hairspray after unwrapping stretches it further. For the band itself, hand wash in cool water with a gentle detergent and hang to dry — no machine, no dryer, no ironing. The satin sleeve keeps its glide for a long time if you treat it that way.
Orders ship within 3–5 business days, backed by our 60-Night Guarantee. Sleep in it, wake up, decide for yourself. If it isn't the most comfortable one you've tried, email support@wilder.com and we'll make it right.

2:47 AM

The part nobody films.

You roll onto your side and something hard presses into your temple. You push it back. Twenty minutes later you're awake again, adjusting it in the dark. By 3am you've pulled the whole thing out and thrown away the night.

It isn't you, and it isn't heatless curls. It's the wire. Almost every curling headband on the shelf has a metal wire sewn inside so the tails hold their shape at the gym. Great for a workout. Terrible for a pillow.

Flowmax has no wire in it. That's the entire point.

Three minutes before bed

1

Start damp

Around 80–90% dry — towel-dried, not soaking. This one detail decides whether it works.

2

Split and wrap

Part down the middle, wrap each side firmly around the band, tuck the ends in and tie off.

3

Sleep on it

Any position you like. Unwrap in the morning, shake it out, go.
